Love is…

-Moving out of state to be with the one you love
-Trying to change to make things work
-Loving yourself and your partner….not losing yourself in them though!
-Making a card to send to Iraq
-Staying together through all the tough times and coming out better than ever
-Knowing you can trust your partner no matter what has happened in the past
-Staying up all night to help them pack
-Knowing they appreciate you so much
-Blowing your diet to go eat out with them
-Doing the dishes (yes, boys…this is love too!)
-Being apart for a year, but now that they have to go for 3 weeks, not knowing what to do with yourself! Funny how that works!
-Worrying he might have to go back to war, but knowing you will wait…

Happy 4th!

Thanks to everyone who has or had a relative in the armed services. The United States is far from being perfect, but at least we are free to state our opinion on the subject. I feel very lucky to live in such a country.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, and let’s not forget what it’s all about. Besides the beers, bikinis, and bbq. :)

Skinny Jeans

I think it is time for a diet. I simply refuse to get rid of my skinny jeans. Too bad at the moment ALL of my jeans are termed my “skinny jeans” except for one! Please control your laughter, it just isn’t nice! :)

Well, the diet begins. After tomorrow that is. Personal Rule Number 74: Calories are not to be counted on one’s birthday!

The Big Two Seven

Tomorrow (Sunday) I will be turning my “perfect age”. What on earth do I mean? Well, I think it was in high school when I had determined that 27 was THE perfect age. By 27, I would be settled, successful, with all my wildest dreams coming true. Too bad most of this isn’t true of my current life, but 27 still seems to be a great age. Not old enough to be “old”, not young enough to be “a kid”. If Goldilocks had an age, it would have been 27. This one’s “jussssst right”.

So, plan on me being 27 for a few more years. When we are out in the year 2010 and a stranger approaches us, asking “So Kellye, how old are you?”. (How rude! Don’t they know I’m still 27??). “27,” I will reply, not so much as batting an eyelash. Please refrain from the shocked face with mouth agape. I am now warning you that I will be 27 for a while, so learn to love it. And please support me when no one else believes me. I expect this out of you as a true friend. If you plan on being your perfect age for a while, I’ll be there for you as well. :)

Bring On the Thunder?

Today my dad was in town. We had a big family outing to the Stars Center to see the IFL (arena football) Team called “Frisco Thunder”. I really didn’t know such a team existed, but it turns out I have a family connection to the head coach, so we got the hook up! It was pretty fun and it was good to see my dad and step mom. We had a nice lunch and I got my birthday present early (very generous I might add!). All in all it was a good day and I didn’t have to serve anyone a prime porterhouse or lobster tail. :) Gotta love that!

Choose Happiness

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been waffling between happy and depressed lately. Well, not anymore!!!

Enough is enough. The other day I decided that I honestly was going to be happy. Period. Regardless of situations. Life will happen, whether I am happy or not. So I am choosing happiness. Moodiness is so last season. :)

Love this song!

One More Year of Life

In about a week, it will be my 27th birthday. As it approaches, I find myself wondering what I have accomplished over the past year and what I want to be different next year. Read the rest of this entry »

Inspiration of the Week

Which are you?

Are You a Bucket-Filler or a Dipper?
by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

You have heard of the cup that overflowed. This is a story of a bucket that is like the cup, only larger, it is an invisible bucket. Everyone has one. It determines how we feel about ourselves, about others, and how we get along with people. Have you ever experienced a series of very favorable things which made you want to be good to people for a week? At that time, your bucket was full. Read the rest of this entry »

Technology, friend or foe?

Once upon a time, about 40 years ago, lived a civilization made up of people without cell phones, computers, internet, e-mail, myspace, and even remote controls. You may be thinking, “Preposterous! How could anyone live in such a way?”, but I have been wondering if technology is a friend or a foe. Read the rest of this entry »
